Wind Energy Technology

Wind Energy has proven to be economically viable
renewable energy source today for generating
electrical power.Wind Energy Conversion Systems
(WECS) of generation capacity of about 60,000 MW
are installed World over. Till  date, India has installed
over 6,000 MW of wind power and ranks fourth in the
world.India has started manufacturing and exporting
Wind Machines  in 1 to 2 MW range. However, no
indigenous design is available for 1to0 kW range.
Increasingly, a need is felt for skilled technical
manpower to understand, design  and operate wind
machines. With this requirement in mind,a three­day
training course on Wind Energy Technology is
planned on April 16­18, 2007 at IIT­Bombay.
